Games start at 6 pm. Prizes for first place, fellowship 1, and fellowship 2 (I reserve the right to disqualify one from winning a prize). I reserve the right to ask you to change your team or borrow a new team or be ineligible for a prize. I will implement negative fellowship points should the need arise. Entry fees as posted. Three rounds lasting up to 50 minutes. All HeroClix elements are allowed unless otherwise noted. Tuesday and Sunday house rules are separate from Thursday house rules. In the event of a rules dispute, I will provide an interim ruling. I promise to keep it as unbiased as possible but mistakes can happen. I will apologize after I look up the answer if I am wrong.
Please consult the rulebook, powers and abilities card, and the players' guide for issues not addressed here (and because it's important to know what you're doing). An updated rulebook and a powers and abilities card are valuable resources to bring as well.
House Rules:
1. Don't be a dink.
2. Purple ringed figures are allowed, as are promotional figures
3. I may grant a keyword to your team should you convince me it deserves it
4. Color coded maps only. In addition, two player maps or smaller.
There has been a lot of talk about friendliness. In order to try to nip it in the bud and provide a pleasant experience for the group I ask you all to be good sports and strongly consider the following guidelines for friendly events (which are not comprehensive):
- is there an excessive amount of probability control, perplex, and or outwit? 1 use per 300 points is a guideline. I'm probably not going to penalize you for playing Secret Invasion Nick Fury or having a themed team or Superman Enemies though. Also, if it's not upfront it isn't as big of a problem. Use good judgement.
- is your team just plain frustrating to face? Would you be reasonably annoyed if you had to fight against it (be honest)?
- is there a theme (not necessarily themed) to the roster? If it is comic accurate it's much more forgivable. Spirit is important, perhaps more than keyword. If it's min/max, are you playing solely to win a prize or boost your own ego against watered down teams?
Scenarios:
11/7 The Island Awakens!
500 points. Friendly. No entry fee.
In the center four squares of each map, are Krakoa special markers. These are blocking terrain that cannot be destroyed or removed. At the end of each player's turn, that player rolls one six sided die. On a result of 1-3, nothing happens. On a result of 4, all characters are dealt 1 normal damage. On a result of 5, all printed hindering terrain becomes blocking terrain until a new result is rolled. Anyone occupying blocking terrain is dealt 1 unavoidable damage and placed in the starting area of its controller. On a result of 6, the Krakoa squares may make a ranged attack with a range of 8, a 10 attack, and a damage of 3 that ignores elevation, blocking, characters, and hindering terrain. If you choose the actual Krakoa map, nothing extra happens.
11/14 Street Fight
400 points friendly, but M. Bison and Akuma are allowed. No entry fee.
6 rounds, six characters. Do not set up as normal. Pick one character and place it on the map.
When a character is defeated, calculate victory points as follows:
- If the character with the lower point cost wins, add additional points equal to half the difference
- if the character with the higher point cost wins, subtract half the difference from victory points
Then the player whose figure was defeated selects a new figure to battle and places it in his or her starting area. (The winning figure doesn't heal back to full for the sake of winning, but may heal through regular game effects.) Bringing your own street fighter maps is encouraged.
11/21 Clix Roulette 2.0
500 points friendly. 6 figure minimum and maximum (exactly 6 figures). No entry fee.
Do not set up as normal. Having no figures on the map only ends the game if the opposition is all defeated. Assign each character a number 1 through 6 on a sheet of paper and roll a 6 sided die at the beginning of your turn to determine which, if any, figure gets deployed either in your starting area or adjacent to a friendly character. If you are outnumbered by more than 2 characters, reroll until you get a character to be deployed if you didn't deploy one already.
11/28 Turkey Day
1800 points competitive, unless the store is not open. No entry fee.
