Keywords anyone?
HeroClix Keyword Index by Harpua: h1.ripway.com/Harpua/HCKeywordList.pdf
Some terms for new players:
"Highlander" - no duplicates of non-generic figures.
"X% Floor" - Your build total must include at least that percentage of the most recently released set. So, 50% Floor would mean that your build must include 50% points from the Giant-Size X-men (GSX) set.
"Floor" includes figures from the Captain America gravity feed, as they have Captain America set numbers. It will also include figures from the Street Fighter set.
A request for all players: Let's focus on making sure we have the rules down and focus a little less on winning the game. For this month, I would suggest that we all focus on not only declaring the physical action, i.e., "I move figure X to this space," but declare the action, i.e., "I give figure Y a move action and move him . . . or I give figure X a power action to running shot 2 squares and make a ranged combat attack on opponent O."
August 2 - "The dust settles". Build a 400 point, 50% floor team, all figures allowed. This week we will have two, timed multiplayer games. $2.00 entry.
August 9 - "I wanted to go to Gencon. " Build a 300 point Modern Age team. This will be a one-on-one event. Only maps that are useable at "Worlds" may be used.
These are:
The Lab, The Junkyard, Airbase (Tank Map), The Bank, Spaceship Crash Site, The Asylum, Fountain of Asgard, Graveyard, The Bridge, The Crater, The Monument, Airport Terminal, Madripoor GL, Ferris Aircraft, GL Fast Force:OA.
August 16 - "Oooops!" I forgot about the release of Street Fighter Clix when I put out the August preview events. This week will be one on one gaming. We will try out the one v one rules in the Street Fighter set. Build a four hundred point team consisting of six figures. You must include at least one figure from the Street Fighter Set and one figure from the Captain America Set. All figures must be Street Fighter or Marvel and under 200 points. No Feats or BFCs. Please note games will be on small special maps. All Street Fighter or Marvel figures allowed that are under 200 points. $2.00 entry.
August 23 - "Avengers Assemble!" Build a 600 point floor Golden Age team. 50% floor. Highlander. Any figure on a theme team, when such theme includes the word "Avengers" in the keyword, has the feat "Armor piercing" for free. In addition, any figure with a keyword that includes the word "Avengers" may only be moved or placed by any game effect other than telekinesis, forceblast or knockback on its controller's turn. These will be one-on-one games. $2.00 entry.
August 30 - "The Labors of Hercules." Build a 600 point force. You may add 10% to your build total if a figure named "Hercules" is your deity. All figures are allowed. No feats or battlefield conditions. Your force must contain exactly seven figures. You must have one deity on your team and six from the following list. You may not use a figure to meet more than one requirement on the list, i.e., you may not have take a figure with the Hydra keyword and poison to meet two requirements. You may have a figure that meets more than one requirement, but it still only satisfies one of those requirements. You will receive an extra victory 15 points for each figure that meets a requirement from the list which is ko'd by your diety. Your force must include six figures each of which meets at least one of the following criteria: 1. the "animal" keyword and the power Invulnerability or the power Impervious, 2. the "Hydra" keyword, 3. the power Incapacitate, 4. the power Poison, 5. the power Barrier, 6. the wing speed symbol, 7. the dolphin speed symbol, 8. the transporter speed symbol, 9. the Amazon keyword, 10. the monster keyword, 11. the power Shape Change, 12. the beast keyword or the word "Beast" in the figure's name, 13. the "Hydra" team symbol, or 14. the power Regeneration. $2.00 entry.
September Preview:
September 6 - "Dust Storm!" Build a 400 point Golden Age force. Feats allowed, but no Battlefield Conditions. No figure may draw a line of fire at a range greater than 4. All clear terrain is considered hindering terrain. No figure on an outdoor map, or the outdoor portion of an indoor/outdoor map, may heal. At the beginning of each game round, the first player rolls 2d6. On a result of 2-5, figures may not use the Flight ability, on a result of 6-11, nothing special happens, except line of fire is still reduced. On a result of 12, the dust storm ends for the remainder of the game. $2.00 entry.
September 13, 2011 - Event change b/c release date change. See September events.
ANNOUNCEMENTS!
Please read the rules. If you do not understand what a term means, such as "continual", which is no longer in the rule book or PAC, but is still being used . . . :X, feel free to ask (in advance is best). Remember, objects are subject to retirement...
Save your money, clip your coupon from the Clipper, cash in your cans and green stamps so you may buy a case or brick of Superman set in September! Should be a great set. All these new figures from DC continuity . . . oh, right, they are rebooting the whole damn Universe after "Secret, Hidden, Special Crisis: Flashpoint". But Superman and the Kryptonian villians look great!
