Tuesday Clix at Zombie Planet
George, please post these at the store. Fran, fyi. Mark, please send this to your Thursday group.
Basics - Games start at 6:30 unless otherwise noted. We observe the following House Rules - 1) No characters may be "In Contact With Oracle" who are not from the DC Universe. 2) No Colossals unless specifically allowed in the event description below, except Sentinels, Advanced Sentinels, Sinestro Constructs and any Colossal from GSX. 3) You may only use a Theme Team cancel if you have at least 2 BFCs with you to play and you are playing them.
Please note the change in alternate team abilities: wizkidsgames.com/blog/2010/06/17/normal-distribution-players-guide-update-and-more/
For information on the terms Modern Age and Golden Age used below:
wizkidsgames.com/blog/2010/03/22/the-ages-of-heroclix/
Note: even if not listed in the guide above or the player's guide, new sets are always Modern Age.
Some terms for new players:
"Highlander" - no duplicates of non-generic figures.
"X% Floor" - Your build total must include at least that percentage of the most recently released set. So, 50% Floor would mean that your build must include 50% points from the Giant-Size X-men (GSX) set.
May 3, 2011 - "The Other Hemisphere." Construct a 600 point Modern Age team. This is a reverse dial event. Effects that would normally "heal" a character replace their normal text with: for effects that target a non-acting character, such as support, "remove action tokens from adjacent characters up to the amount that would be healed;" for effects that target the acting character, such as regen or ____ vine, "remove an action token from the acting character up to the amount that would be healed, max 2 tokens." $2.00 Entry fee.
May 7, 2011 - Free Comic Book Day (FCBD). Come play in the FCBD Scenario. Use your Green Lantern Figure to beat up Green Lantern Enemies in a cooperative environment. Win prizes. There will be a table open for open gaming as well, so bring a 300 and 400 point constructed non-generic keyword team.
May 10, 2011 - "Pull Out All The Stops". Construct a 1800 point Golden Age team. Colossals allowed. These will be one-on-one games. $2.00 Entry fee.
May 17, 2011 - League week one. Construct a 400 point Modern Age Team. Build your team based on the guidelines for the league. This will commence with a Scenario. $2.00 Entry fee.
May 24, 2011 - League week two. Free form league week. Mostly one-on-one games. $2.00 Entry Fee.
May 31, 2011 - League week three. "In Honor of Those Who Have Fallen." You may use your extra League points to add a Golden Age character to your team. This will be a Scenario week. $2.00 fee.Heroclix League May - July 2011 – contact: jevongarrett@gmail.com
Team Composition
1) Initial team construction is limited to 400 points Modern Age.. You may under build to save points for later. Each team must be composed of at least five figures. Feats are unique for league purposes, so a team may only use one of any feat.
2) The league will use the most recent Heroclix rules, available online from: heroclix.com/downloads/
and most recent errata and Player's Guide (hereinafter FAQ). Under no circumstances, unless a league special rule calls for it, will the Heroclix “Alpha” rules be used, though figures from the “Alpha” set may be included in your force at certain points in the league.
3) All figures on a team must either possess the same non-generic “keyword”, or the X-men or Brotherhood team ability. That keyword must be either: 1) "X-Men," 2)"Brotherhood of Mutants" or 3) "Hellfire Club." If you want to build an X-Force, X-Factor, Reavers, Marauders or Purifiers team and are having difficulty within the parameters given, talk to me individually.
4) Teams may not ignore a “scenario” Battlefield Condition (BFC) – some weeks I will announce that a particular Battlefield Condition must be used that week. You may use Battlefield conditions, if you have a copy, or event dials. Your opponent must still agree to use an event dial, unless a scenario specifies that an event dial, or dials, are in use that week. A team may only ignore a BFC if the player brought three BFCs to play that week as part of their team build. You must have copies of the BFCs you wish to play in hand and selected in advance.
5) Teams may include:
a. Up to 1 unique (silver ring), limited edition (bronze or gold ring or set symbol) or veteran (red ring or red background) character.
b. Up to 2 experienced (blue ring or blue background) characters.
c. Any number of rookies (yellow ring or yellow background) within the point allotment.
d. This is a “Highlander” League, so teams may not include more than one of the same “named” figure, unless the character's power is to duplicate, such as “Multiple Man”, or is a “grunt” as defined below. You may not use “Wolverine” and “Logan” – if you are not sure about a figure, please ask.
e. You may use any number of “grunts”, “minions” or “mooks,”, such as ”Purifiers”, any figure with “Shield”, “Hydra”, “Trooper”, “Kree”, “Mandroid”, “Hand Ninja”, “S.W.A.T”, “AIM”, “Lex Corp” or “Police Agent” in the name – if you are wondering about more recent figures, please ask. Of course, although I say "any number," they must still fit within your point limit.
f. The number of experienced figures may not exceed the number of rookie figures. Your force does not have to contain any "experienced" figures.
6) Only official Heroclix figures may be used. If a figure has a non-standard power or trait, you may only use the non-standard power or trait if you have a legible card (or a legible copy of both sides) for that version of the character.
7) All figures must be from the same comic book “universe”/ company, ie. no “crossover” teams.
8) A team will score 15 points for each game won and ten points for each loss or draw. A maximum of thirty points may be earned per team per week. Points for scenarios will be assigned independently of other games and may exceed the thirty points per week limit.
9) It is preferred that games are played at Zombie Planet, however up to one game per team per week may be played at a location other than Zombie Planet.
10) A player may register multiple teams.
11) League to start Tuesday, May 17, 2011 and run for eight weeks, ending on Tuesday, July 5, 2011, with a Final Battle composed of one team per player.
Modification 5/27/11 (change in composition rules):
For this league, "Modern Age" means figures that were Modern Age as of 4/29/11 and "Golden Age" means figures that were Golden Age on that date.
You may modify your team to fit the following . . . .
No more than one figure over 150 points.
No more than 2 figures between 51 and 150 points.
As many figures as fit the theme, etc. Under 51 points.
All other guidelines regarding keywords, team abiliities and Modern/Golden Ages still apply.
