NEW: We now have sign ups at www.heroclix.com ! Please sign up if you plan to attend! Also, please note each event's entry fee, if any.
Games start at 6 pm. Prizes for first place, fellowship 1, and fellowship 2 (I reserve the right to disqualify one from winning a prize). I reserve the right to ask you to change your team or borrow a new team or be ineligible for a prize. I will implement negative fellowship points should the need arise. Entry fees as posted. Three rounds lasting up to 50 minutes. All HeroClix elements are allowed unless otherwise noted. Tuesday and Sunday house rules are separate from Thursday house rules. In the event of a rules dispute, I will provide an interim ruling. I promise to keep it as unbiased as possible but mistakes can happen. I will apologize after I look up the answer if I am wrong.
Please consult the rulebook, powers and abilities card, and the players' guide for issues not addressed here (and because it's important to know what you're doing). An updated rulebook and a powers and abilities card are valuable resources to bring as well.
House Rules:
1. Don't be a dink.
2. Purple ringed figures are allowed, as are promotional figures
3. I will grant a keyword to your team should you convince me it deserves it
4. Color coded maps only. In addition, two player maps or smaller.
There has been a lot of talk about friendliness. In order to try to nip it in the bud and provide a pleasant experience for the group I ask you all to be good sports and strongly consider the following guidelines for friendly events (which are not comprehensive):
- is there an excessive amount of probability control, perplex, and or outwit? 1 use per 300 points is a guideline. I'm probably not going to penalize you for playing Secret Invasion Nick Fury or having a themed team or Superman Enemies though. Also, if it's not upfront it isn't as big of a problem. Use good judgement.
- is your team just plain frustrating to face? Would you be reasonably annoyed if you had to fight against it (be honest)?
- is there a theme (not necessarily themed) to the roster? If it is comic accurate it's much more forgivable. Spirit is important, perhaps more than keyword. If it's min/max, are you playing solely to win a prize or boost your own ego against watered down teams?
Scenarios:
12/5 The Storm Machine
400 points friendly. $2 entry fee. The central four squares of the map are occupied by the Storm Machine. It is blocking terrain, and squares of it can be destroyed normally. When a square of the machine is destroyed-- provided it was not the last square of the machine-- the machine activates; the active player rolls on THE TABLE.
At the beginning of each player's turn, that player rolls one die. If the Storm Machine is still intact, then it activates on a roll of 1 or 2. Roll on THE TABLE.
THE TABLE: Roll two dice when the machine activates.
[1] Ray of Sunshine: Each player may remove an action token from one character.
[2] Cosmic Rays: All characters occupying outdoor terrain are immediately dealt 1 click of unavoidable damage.
[3] High Winds: All characters occupying elevated terrain are immediately knocked back 3 squares away from the starting area of the player that rolled this result. This inflicts knockback damage if applicable.
[4] Lightning Strike: The highest-point-value character in play is dealt 3 clicks of damage. If there are two or more figures tied for highest-point-value, then all tied figures are struck by lightning.
[5] Flash Freeze: All characters in play that have fewer than two action tokens are given an additional action token. This inflicts pushing damage if applicable.
[6] Sudden Gust: All characters in play are immediately knocked back 1 square away from the starting area of the player that rolled this result. This inflicts knockback damage if applicable.
[7] Dense Fog: All non-blocking terrain is hindering terrain for purposes of line of fire. The effect continues until the machine activates again or is entirely destroyed.
[8] Flash Flood: All clear, non-elevated terrain becomes water terrain. The effect continues until the machine activates again or is entirely destroyed.
[9] Turbulence: Characters with the wing (or reverse wing) speed symbol gain Earthbound/Neutralized. The effect continues until the machine activates again or is entirely destroyed.
[10] Heavy Rain: The Range value of all figures is halved, as is the range for powers and abilities (the minimum of 6 becomes 3, for example). The Support power cannot be used. These effects continue until the machine activates again or is entirely destroyed.
[11] Torrential Rain: Characters may not draw Line of Fire, making ranged attacks impossible and powers such as Outwit useless. The effect continues until the machine activates again or is entirely destroyed.
[12] Mad Storm: Roll the dice again, consult this table, and apply the result of each die separately.
Don't worry, I will have copies of THE TABLE available.
12/12 Injustice
600 points competitive. $3 entry fee - Invincible Iron Man prizes so plan accordingly. Maximum 6 figures. The Injustice Gang keyword becomes the Injustice League keyword. Characters with the Injustice League keyword modify their speed value by +1 if not already modified by this effect.
12/19 Third time's the charm
500 points friendly. $2 entry fee. 6 figure minimum and maximum (exactly 6 figures).
Do not set up as normal. Having no figures on the map only ends the game if all opposing characters have either been possessed or removed from the map. Assign each character a number 1 through 6 on a sheet of paper and roll a 6 sided die at the beginning of your turn to determine which, if any, figure gets deployed either in your starting area or adjacent to a friendly character. If you are outnumbered by more than 2 characters, reroll until you get a character to be deployed if you didn't deploy one already.
12/26 The Lobo Paramilitary Christmas Special
1700 points competitive. $3 entry fee. Themed team bonuses do not apply today. All damage dealt to figures over 299 points is unavoidable damage. Colossals may not be healed. All damage dealt to a character assigned a resource is penetrating damage. No battlefield conditions.
